Job Description:
Algoma Chrysler is seeking a dedicated, attentive, and proficient Automotive Technician to provide exceptional technical support and mechanical expertise working in the shop of our Service Department at our Spragge location. As an Automotive Technician at Algoma Chrysler, you will play a crucial role in customer experience by conducting diagnostic procedures to determine vehicle maintenance requirements & providing accurate repair recommendations to customers.
To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanics’ tools, services, and diagnostic equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Hours
Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Responsibilities
Review work orders and discuss work with the Service Manager (if applicable)
Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
Test and adjust repaired systems to the manufacturer’s performance specifications
Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements if necessary
Qualifications
Proven experience in Automotive repair
Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair techniques
Critical thinking, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills to perform repairs successfully
The ability to interpret technical terms to customers is considered an asset
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
Able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Valid Drivers License
The ability to operate vehicles with a manual transmission is regarded as an asset
Experience
A provincially recognized Journeyperson Automotive Mechanic Certificate (Preferred but not required)
A Red Seal License is considered an asset
1 + years of experience in Automotive Repair is considered an asset
1+ years working in the Automotive Industry is preferred but not required
