Waasseandimikaaning, Anishinabe Spiritual Centre (ASC), a non-profit owned and operated by an Indigenous Board of Directors, is a retreat, conference, Damigoong Bimiikaadwining (calling to service) centre for faith and leadership development of Indigenous Men and Women. As well, ASC is committed to programs in the areas of youth/young adult reconciliation & social justice, ecology, and the care of our common home and Ignatian spirituality in dialogue with Indigenous spirituality.

KITCHEN HELPER JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: Under the direct supervision and guide of the Cook/Kitchen Manager, and general direction of the Property Manager, is responsible for support in the kitchen and in the cleanliness of the kitchen; and is expected to assist in preparation and serving of meals.
The position(s) are currently casual but as the season progresses the hours may increase. There are opportunities available for the right person for full time. The ASC offers competitive wages and a positive team environment.
Education/Training Requirements
Grade 12 an asset
Food related courses: Food Hygiene or Food Handling, Food safety, smart serve (optional), WHMIS Training Certificate-preferred
Previous Job experience: in the hospitality industry
A working knowledge of Health and Safety
Emergency First Aid and/or Health and Safety qualification – desirable
Skill Requirement
Excellent communication and comprehension skills
Able to work under pressure
Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time, long hours and work weekends
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
