Canadian Shield Consultants is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Truck & Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain tandem trucks, triaxle trucks, pickup trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment. The successful candidate will ensure all vehicles and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
□ Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on:
o Tandem and Triaxle dump trucks
o Pickup trucks (gas and diesel)
o Loaders and heavy equipment
□ Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
□ Repair braking systems, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, and diesel engines
□ Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with provincial regulations
□ Maintain service records and complete work orders
□ Ensure a clean and safe work environment
□ Respond to emergency roadside repairs if required
□ A valid G driver’s license is required as some travelling in Northern Ontario is required
□ Work on special projects as needed
If you have:
□ Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems
□ Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
□ Welding experience considered an asset
□ Ability to lift heavy components
□ Ability to operate machinery and tools safely
□ Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions
□ Are physically fit, reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
