EO-NO-162 Laboratory Technician – Phlebotomist

·         The Laboratory Technician will be responsible to perform various clinical laboratory procedures following set guidelines and ensure that all quality control checks and standards are run as required.

·         The Laboratory Technician will collect blood and specimen as required, following Ministry of Health guidelines, and be responsible to conduct other health tests such as ECG and blood pressure.

·         Practice medical asepsis and infection control at all times. All company and government regulations are to be followed.

·         Routine disinfection of work area and equipment cleaning and sterilization to be done as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Graduate of an approved Laboratory Technologist program or equivalent experience.

·         Minimum of one (1) year of recent and related experience in phlebotomy, ECG, Holter monitoring, data entry, and sample sorting is preferred.

·         Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications.

·         Proficiency in both French and English is a strong asset.

·        Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·         A criminal record check will be required prior to hiring.

WORK CONDITIONS:
·       Salary range: $24.24 – $29.21 per hour
