Co-opérative Régionale de Nipissing-Sudbury Ltée

General Accountability:

The Co-opérative Régionale de Nipissing-Sudbury Ltée is interested in hiring an Assistant Store Manager who will work closely with our employees and customers at our Verner Clover Farm location and Verner Gas Bar to deliver the highest possible level of service to our customers.  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the recruitment of quality employees, attract customers, promote sales, among other duties.

Job Duties:

  • Train store staff
  • Attract customers by originating display ideas.
  • Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers.
  • Help customers by providing information; answering questions; obtaining merchandise requested.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Maintain inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Finding ways to cut costs and maximize profits by supervising delivery of product.
  • Keep a good liaison between customers and the Co-op; rectify any issues with customers and potential customers.
  • Developing strategies for greater efficiency, reducing costs and manage profits.
  • Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Promote Co-opérative Régionale’s products, services, and philosophy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required qualifications an experience:

  • 2+ years’ management or supervisory experience
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
  • Quantitative ability and attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Bilingual (French and English) an asset
  • Computer knowledge, such as Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • Inventory management
  • High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environmnet.
  • Confident, consistent decisive personality
  • Knowledge of the Co-op’s organization, policies, and principles (preference)

Work Conditions:

  • Physical activity required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Deadlines and irregular hours of work
  • Weekend work required, on occasion.
