EO343 – Construction Equipment Operator

Key Responsibilities

· Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers

· Perform site preparation tasks such as grading, trenching, digging, and backfilling

· Transport materials and equipment around the job site

· Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes

· Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, lubricating, cleaning)

· Identify and report mechanical issues or safety hazards

· Follow all workplace safety regulations and procedures

· Work closely with site supervisors, laborers, and other trades

· Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently according to project timelines

· Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Proven experience operating construction equipment

· Valid operator certification or license (requirements vary by region)

· Knowledge of equipment safety standards and procedures

· Ability to read basic site plans and grade specifications

· Good physical condition and hand-eye coordination
