Educational Assistant – 2024-2025 School Year
The Educational Assistant (EA) will enrich the educational program by helping students gain knowledge and skills they need to function in the classroom, the school and the community. The EA will provide assistance to the classroom teacher. This position is subject to DFN personnel and administrative policies, relevant Education Dept program policies and procedures, and relevant laws and regulations. This is a contract position.
Main Duties:
- College Diploma in the Human Services Field
- Child and Youth Worker or Early Childhood Educator
- Knowledge of the culture, traditions, history and customs of the Anishinaabe
- Excellent communication skills-both written and oral
- Working knowledge of computer and software needed for program service
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
- Ability to make decisions and work on own initiatives
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and situations
- Provide a vulnerable sector check
- Able to communicate effectively and remain professional
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education
Salary: To be determined based on qualifications
