The ideal candidate will provide preventative maintenance and repairs to facilities, equipment and machines related to product manufacturing, including basic problem solving and troubleshooting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, machines and facilities

·        Performs emergency / unscheduled repairs of production and packaging equipment

·        Performs scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs of production and packaging equipment

·        Reads and interprets equipment manuals, engineering drawings, work orders, and other information sources, to perform required maintenance and servicing

·        Responsible for preparing a preventative maintenance schedule

·        Responsible for knowing and following all Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, DSI, and Site Safety and Health rules including maintaining a safe-work environment by enforcing a strict standard of housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work areas utilizing 5S principles.

·        Communicates with co-workers, management, customers and others in a courteous and professional manner.

·        Accepts guidance and constructive feedback from fellow and senior staff.

·        Troubleshoots presses, furnaces, threaders. conveyors, saws and automated production lines

·        Uses lathes, mills, welders and grinders to aid in repairs and maintenance

·        Works closely with Operations Manager/Production & Maintenance Supervisor on various projects and preventative maintenance

·        Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions

·        Completes other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

2-3 years’ experience troubleshooting in an industrial environment

Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing facility
Familiarity with MSDS of the chemicals used in our processes
Solid hands–on experience in hydraulics and pneumatics
Familiarity with electrical, instrumentation and control systems
 

EDUCATION

High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate
Journeyman Industrial Mechanic-Millwright Certificate
