The Opportunity: Office Manager
Office Manager / Accountant is responsible for the efficient operations of our office.
The Office Manager is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Roles and Responsibilities
Management Responsibilities
Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and processes
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes
Manage filing/reporting requirements with CRA for T4s, HST and other required filings
Transaction/Accounting System Responsibilities
Ensure that accounts payable are appropriately recognized
Ensure accounts receivable are collected promptly
Assist the Payroll Clerk to ensure payroll is processed in a timely manner
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Maintain a logical/effective chart of accounts
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

Reporting
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of the year-end financial statements and required tax filings with external accountants
Using job/project accounting, provide financial reports on various construction projects
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital equipment investments, debt/financing decisions and contract negotiations
Ensure compliance and timely reporting on all debt covenants

Compliance
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Qualifications
University Business Degree
QBO Experience would be an asset
5+ years of accounting/finance experience
Compensation
To be based on a combination of relevant experience and industry knowledge.
Experience:
Accounting: 5 years (preferred)
QBO Experience: 1 year (preferred)
