EO336 – Construction Labour

Construction labourer role working about 50 hours per week on Northern Ontario job sites, reporting to a supervisor. The job involves physical outdoor work in all weather, teamwork around heavy equipment, and tasks such as shoveling, raking, sweeping, flagging, lifting heavy materials, rigging, and using hand tools and gas-powered equipment on civil and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in gathering all the parts/tools required and check that they all are in good working order

· Complete, write and submit daily pre-operation check of equipment and power tools

· Execute work directions in a professional, safe and efficient manner

· Secure work site, gather all tools and keep them in a good working conditions and organized

· Understand grades, desired results and construction processes

· Type of work varies to road building, laying pipes, civil infrastructure, demolition, landscape, concrete, paving site work, weeping tiles, septic systems, etc.

· All labour duties such as shoveling, raking, sweeping, lifting, rigging, moving objects, traffic control, etc. related to the tasks above

· Potential work involving working at heights and confined space

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years experience in a construction setting

· Mechanical experience is preferred

· Strong work ethic and physically fit

· Open minded, ambitious and organized

· Valid drivers license
