Full job description
Be part of the electoral process! We’re hiring poll officials to support the delivery of the election on February 27.

What you can expect as a poll official

Reporting to the Returning Officer (or designate) of your electoral district, you will:

Participate in the execution of the election during the advance poll period (February 20 to 22) or on election day (February 27) by completing event deliverables;
Manage effective and collaborative working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
Be expected to work up to 11 hours during the advance poll period or up to 13 hours on election day.
What we are looking for

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during the advance poll period or on election day.
Must be 18 years or older*, a Canadian citizen**, and resident of Ontario, as per the Election Act.
Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and communicate solutions to staff and the public in an efficient and timely manner.
Living in or near the electoral district is preferred.
Previous experience working in a returning office or at a voting location on polling day is an asset.
Must be available to work up to 11 hours during the advance poll period (February 20 to 22) or up to 13 hours on election day (February 27).
*You do not need to be a Canadian citizen for the position of Information Assistant.

**Must be at least 16 years of age for the position of Information Assistant and Tabulator Deputy Returning Officer.
