Location: Algoma District, Northern Ontario (Exact location disclosed upon selection)

Position Overview

GHHS is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) to support one of our valued healthcare partners in Algoma District, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including ultrasound and general radiography examinations, in accordance with professional standards and facility protocols
Operate and maintain imaging equipment safely, accurately, and efficiently
Prepare and position patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety throughout examinations
Clearly explain imaging procedures and address patient concerns with professionalism and compassion
Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and reports
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment planning
Adhere to infection prevention and control measures, radiation safety standards, and organizational policies
Ensure compliance with all provincial regulatory and professional practice requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Completion of a 2-to-4-year diploma or post-diploma program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a recognized equivalent
Successful completion of the national entry-to-practice examinations administered by Sonography Canada, with Canadian Generalist Sonographer credential preferred/required
Current registration and good standing with CMRITO
Active certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
Previous clinical or hospital experience considered an asset
Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening issued within the last 12 months
Current 2-Step TB Test or Chest X-Ray completed within the last 12 months
Up-to-date immunization records, including Varicella, MMR, TDap, Hepatitis B, and any additional facility-specific requirements
