Golden Years Retirement Home is dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming environment for our 16 senior residents. We pride ourselves on offering home-cooked meals and a friendly atmosphere.

We are seeking a personable and enthusiastic Cook to join our team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will prepare and serve home-cooked meals, adhering to a pre-set menu while having the opportunity to contribute ideas. This role is essential in maintaining the health and satisfaction of our residents.

Employment Details:

Prepare and cook meals for 16 senior residents
·         Offer creative input for menu planning and suggest enhancements to the existing menu

·         Adhere to Ministry guidelines and ensure compliance with health and safety standards

·         Collaborate with staff to ensure a positive dining experience for residents

·         Utilize a step stool, navigate stairs, and manage tasks such as moving garbage weighing approximately 25 lbs to outside bins

·         1-11 hour shift per week, with possible additional holiday and weekend shifts

·         Clean Attire is required: Wearing scrubs is not mandatory but is welcomed
Qualifications:

WHMIS certification required
Food Handler’s certification required
Ability to speak French is an asset
Criminal record check mandatory (CPIC)
Knowledge of Ministry guidelines and the ability to adhere to them
A friendly and personable demeanor is a must
