Care Companion

We are seeking a caring and reliable Companion for Seniors to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with seniors and a commitment to improving their well-being. As a Companion, you will provide emotional support, engage in meaningful activities, and assist with daily tasks to help our clients maintain their independence and enjoy a fulfilling life.

• Provide companionship and engage in conversa􀀁ons with clients
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands
• Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
• Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behavior
• Encourage and participate in recreational activities and hobbies
• Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients

Qualifications Qualifications

Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to engage and support the seniors you care for – experience caregiving/fostering relationships with seniors is an asset.
Excellent communicator, responsive & flexible to meet changing priorities.
Ability to resolve contentious or sensitive issues or situations independently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.
Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health & safety practices, principles & legislation.
Compliance with infectious disease screening as per provincial legislation & required immunizations up to date.
Valid Class G driver’s license, valid automobile insurance, and willing to travel throughout the Greater Sudbury Area.
Knowledge of the retirement industry resources is an asset.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to walk, sit and stand for an extended period of time.
Must be able to bend, reach and lift.
Must be able to carry and transport objects of various sizes up to 25 lbs.
Must be available for a minimum of 6 hours a week.
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
