The role of the Animal Care Attendant (ACA) is one that demands great versatility. Your primary objectives are excellent client and patient care at all times. Your time will be divided equally amongst hospital upkeep, caring for pets, assisting the veterinarians or technicians, and administrative duties such as labelling leashes and carriers and other pet belongings, updating the whiteboard when animals are discharged. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented, has a strong work ethic, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications:
Previous experience in animal care or other related fields is preferred.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Schedule:
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Experience:
Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Previous experience working with animals preferred
Knowledge of animal behavior and basic care techniques
Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Work Location: In person
Please note that this position requires you to have the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time.
