ROLE OVERVIEW
The Registrar is committed to creating and promoting a learning and organizational environment that reflects and appreciates the Anishinabek culture, principles, values, language, history, and customs and will be supportive of Anishinabek practices and protocols. Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Registrar will be responsible for the input, quality, standardization, and maintenance of student records for the Post-Secondary Education and Training Department, and other Kenjgewin Teg organizational departments as introduced. This position will be responsible for ensuring the completion and accuracy of student applications and academic criteria, while collaborating with the Post-Secondary Education team to ensure effective, efficient academic procedures and processes.
Flexibility and adaptability to change are essential in this position as the organization explores effectiveness and efficiencies in the realm of changes occurring in Indigenous Education.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Computer Science Degree or other related/similar degree; minimum three years of experience in data management
• Experience with database principles and structures to create and design queries and data extraction for internal and public annual reporting needs
• Demonstrated work experience and skills in data management and strategic thinking in the use of data for organizational planning purposes or strategic planning
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
• Knowledge of Anishinabek cultural teachings, or willingness to learn and participate, is required
• Understanding and demonstrated work experience of statistical and research methods
• Understanding and demonstrated work experience in designing data quality assurance procedures and management
• Ability to multitask and meet multiple and/or unexpected deadlines in a demanding work environment
• Strong and positive interpersonal skills required, including personal initiative, industrious work ethic, positive outlook and attitude to contribute to the program and organization working environment
• Excellent written communication skills and public communication staff/public relations experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communications with faculty, staff, and other departments
• Excellent computer skills, preferably in a Microsoft Office environment: word processing, spreadsheet, graphics/charts, and presentation software
