The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading, scheduling and mentoring maintenance operations in addition to regular duties. Responsible for Predictive, Preventative Maintenance and TPM programs. Responsible for installing, dismantling, or moving machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings. Responsible to support building maintenance requirements through direct work and management of sub-contractor services. Ensures employee efficiency and quality work is being performed while ensuring a safe, clean and productive work environment. Position is based in Elliot Lake, Ontario.
Key Job Responsibilities
• To make maintenance plan and supervise and direct the maintenance team to perform equipment maintenance plan.
• To supervise and ensure project contractor quality and contractor safety
• To make equipment management register and maintenance record.
• Commissioning and accepting equipment.
• Leads/assists EHS on compliance related issues such as crane inspections, hazardous materials and waste management, environmental compliance, and required periodic inspections and tests.
• Manages the facilities/grounds maintenance and upkeep.
• Facilitate with Maintenance personnel and Manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and coordinates appropriate repair of equipment and facilities issues.
• Works with outside vendors to provide contracted services.
• Progresses the 6S and supports Operational Excellence activities in areas of responsibilities
• Complies with Komatsu Mining Corp safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
• Identifies and reports any unsafe work habits.
• Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Komatsu Mining Corp’s products.
Qualifications/Requirements
• College diploma in Millwright, Electrical or Mechanical technician or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Millwright or Electrical trade.
• Millwright ticket or Journeyman license is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in supervision;
• Familiarity with repair of manufacturing equipment including lathes, mills, welding equipment, paint equipment.
• Knowledge of machine centers, tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Experience with SAP, or business-related system;
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures to support infrastructure capex projects and general facility repairs.
• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment within production facility or office environment for repairs.
• Ability to read blue prints, drawings, schematics.
