Position Requirements:

·    Immediate response, intervention and prevention to calls for support of those experiencing victimization through crime or tragic circumstance.

·    Education/experience in office administration, social sciences and/or related field, an asset.

·    Mature, responsible, and superb organizational skills

·    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·    Ability or experience dealing with crisis situations.

·    Knowledgeable of office procedures

·    Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database software. 

·    High attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in work.

·    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, in close quarters, in a policing environment.

·    Flexible hours – willing to work some evenings and weekends.

·    Bilingual (French/English), an asset

·    This position requires a criminal reference check, a valid driver’s licence, and access to a vehicle.

·   Completion of 40-hour Victim Services training, will be required.

Primary Functions:

·    Reporting to the Executive Director, the position will provide administration and coordination of programs delivered by Manitoulin Northshore Victim Services.

·    Oversee Volunteer program, including recruitment, retention, and recognition events.

·    Supervise Team Leaders, along with front-line first responders.

·    Oversee Mobile Tracking System Program, including information sharing to community partners.

·    Monitoring participants to ensure all information is up to date and devices are in working order

·    Oversee Project Lifesaver program, including information sharing to community partners and caregivers.

·    Assigning volunteers to participants of Project Lifesaver

·    Ensure all documentation is completed and kept on file for all programs.

·    Respond directly to requests for support and assistance.

·    Receive referrals for direct follow up.

·    Share in providing after-hours support.

 

The successful candidate will require a thorough knowledge of social services and victimization issues, in addition to relevant experience/education in assisting a volunteer team and crisis intervention work. This position requires a criminal reference check, a valid driver’s license, and access to a vehicle.
