Climbing Arborist

We are seeking a Climbing Arborist

Job is from roughly, April to November 2025 (dependent on the snow!).

Some climbing experience is preferred, but we’d also be willing to train the right candidate.

Come move to Manitoulin! We can help find a place to stay or we can provide a spot for a trailer.

QUALIFICATIONS
Valuable qualifications:

· Tree climbing experience

· Ability to talk to clients in a professional manner

· Understanding of proper aborticulture practices, knowledge of knots, strong tree ID skills

· Chainsaw and chipping operations

· Valid G Drivers License, Heavy Vehicle experience or equivalent is an asset

· Positive attitude and work ethic

· Ability to work safely, as part of crew team, willingness to learn and progress

· Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or a related field is preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Performs all required ground and climbing duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader

· Chainsaw, chipping and loading brush and debris;

· Assist the crew members in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup, and equipment maintenance

· Demonstrates high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper application of approved knots, proper climbing techniques and procedures, proper pruning and small removal skills, and proper rigging skills

· Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules

SALARY:

· $25.00/hr- $35.00/hr. Compensation based on qualifications and experience

· Compensation based on qualifications and experience.

· Full-time hours.

· Job is located on beautiful Manitoulin Island! We can share a couple great fishing holes.

· We can help with finding housing or provide a spot for a trailer.

· If you’re interested in furthering your education, and are a good employee, we’re happy to assist with course costs.

· We can provide some references from past employees if you’re interested but unsure of making the move to glorious Manitoulin.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
