Compensation and Benefits
• Starting wage of (22.52 per hour, including a )3.00 per hour wage enhancement for hours spent supporting clients
• Flexible scheduling that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Position less than 30 hours per week

Skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of lifting, transferring, and bowel and bladder routines
• Professionalism in dealing with team members and other service providers
• Experience with mental health and behavior management techniques (an asset)
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Good understanding of Independent Living or Client Based Care
Responsibilities
• Assist consumers with non-medical activities of daily living
• Provide personal care, lifts and transfers, meal preparation, and other light housekeeping duties
• Maintain consumer dignity, privacy, and safety during service
• Perform duties in accordance with individual service plans and organizational policies
Qualifications
• Grade 12 Diploma or PSW certificate required
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
• Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities
• Good interpersonal skills, including de-escalation techniques
• Professionalism and teamwork in interactions with staff and clients
Education Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification preferred

Experience Requirements
• Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities preferred
• Familiarity with Independent Living or Client Based Care models
• Previous experience in a caregiving role is an asset
