RECEPTIONIST

Position Summary
The Receptionist under the supervision of the School Principal is the first point of call for visitors to the school, parents, staff, and children.
As the ‘face’ of the school the receptionist should be welcoming, personable, helpful, and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner. In addition, it is essential that the person for this role is organized, able to multi-task, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work, as no two days are the same.
Qualifications
Successful completion of Administrative/Office Administration College Program, Certificate or Equivalent
At least 2-3 years’ work experience
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of office systems, procedures, and practices
Working knowledge of meeting procedures would be an asset
COOK
Employment Status: On Call/Casual

Classification: CK1 ($16.55 – $20.10/hour)
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the principal or vice-principal, the cooks are responsible for all aspects of food planning and preparation provided within Lakeview School. The Cooks will oversee and ensure the highest quality of standards for nutritional meals and snacks for Lakeview Students, adhering to the Canada/First Nations Inuit & Metis Food Guidelines and public health regulations, including food storage and preparation.
Qualifications
OSSD or Equivalent, and at least one year direct work-related experience
Current WHMIS Certification or willingness to acquire
Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to acquire
JANITORS
Employment Status: On Call/Casual
Department: Education
Classification: CW ($17.44 – $21.32/hour)
Position Summary
The Janitor is responsible for the custodial duties of the building located at Lakeview School.
Essential Functions
Regularly perform sanitization as a preventative measure.
Dust and polish chairs, tables, equipment and fixtures in the classrooms, staff room and main office.
Sweep, scrubs and polish all floors in rooms and corridors on a regular basis.
Clean and vacuum all carpeting daily.
Clean and sanitize staff and student washrooms and shower rooms daily.
Dust and wash window ledges, counters, and chalk boards in all classrooms.
Remove trash by emptying trash containers and placing in disposal area for transporting.
Keep all lighting fixtures thoroughly cleaned and replacing light bulbs, tubes, or fuses.
Assist the Senior Custodian in maintaining inventory of janitorial supplies and replaces receptacles when required.
Ensure all doors and windows are locked and secured in work area.
Monitor / Clean inside of fridges/stoves as necessary.
Check paper towel/soap dispenser – refill if necessary.
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalency with at least one year of work-related experience.
Current WHIMIS CPR & First Aid Certifications or willing to acquire.
CRC/VSS Rational
CRC/VSS must be current thirty (30) days, original or certified copy. All employment applicants for MFN Education programs are required to submit a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen as individuals will work directly/indirectly with students. All individuals employed under the education program must have a record clear of charges and convictions relating to child sexual harassment or abuse of any kind.
