M’Chigeeng Wellness Centre is a senior living facility for independent individuals who require minimal assistance. It is also the main office for the Home & Community Care Program. The Home & Community Care Program provides services to individuals who require additional home supports, such as daily exercise, hygiene care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, wellness checks and social visits.

M’Chigeeng Wellness Centre is looking for an individual that has excellent communication skills, is self-motivated and demonstrates the attributes of a team-player! If this, is you, we would be happy for you join our HCC team!!

Reporting Relationship
The Personal Support Worker will work under the direction of the Home Care Program Manager

Position Summary
The Personal Support Worker will provide personal care and support services to clients in their daily living activities within the Wellness Centre and out in the community of M’Chigeeng First Nation.

Qualifications & Requirements
Preferred
Personal Support Worker Certificate with a minimum of one (1) year work related experience.

Minimum
Health Care Aide Certificate with six (6) month’s work-related experience.
Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
Valid Ontario Driver’s License
Safe Food Handler Certification

Other Skills

Caring, honest and trustworthy.
Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
Excellent time management.
Available to work shift work and flexible hours, as required.
Experience working with the elderly is an asset.
Knowledge of Ojibwe culture, traditions and the Ojibwe language is an asset or must have the willingness to learn.
A Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within 30 days, original or certified copy) is required for the successful applicant.
