Niijaansinaanik Child and Family Services is a provincially designated Child Well-Being Agency that
provides Prevention and Protection, Child and Family services that reflect values, beliefs and
principles rooted within the Anishinabek culture. We serve the communities of Dokis, Henvey,
Magnetawan, Shawanaga and Wasauksing First Nations.
Reporting to the Supervisor of After-Hours, the After-Hours Service Worker is responsible for providing after-hours and
weekend crisis services, responding to allegations of child maltreatment, and providing immediate protective services
when required. The After-Hours Service Worker’s role is to defuse crises and stabilize events that occur outside of
regular Agency hours until cases can be assumed by regular day staff.
Wages: $38.56 to $46.09
Call Out Hourly Rate: $4.19 to $5.27
Qualifications
Minimum Education
• Bachelor of Social Work degree is preferred
• Community College Diploma in Social Services or Native Child Welfare Worker may be considered
Minimum Experience
• Two (2) years’ direct experience in a social services agency
Knowledge Requirements
• Knowledge of Niijaansinaanik Child and Family Services programs and services
• Respect for sensitivity towards as well as knowledge and understanding of Anishinabek
culture, traditions and the Seven Grandfather teachings
• Knowledge of the First Nation service delivery, customs and traditions in responding to child welfare
• Knowledge of traditional practices, ceremonies and teachings
Other Requirements
• Must provide a clear Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must have a Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel
• Must have $1M automobile insurance
• Must provide a three-year uncertified drivers abstract
