Job description 

Under the responsibility of the mechanical supervisor, the mechanic will be responsible for the following activities:

Description of tasks

Properly check and maintain mobile or air equipment (surface and underground);
Safely install devices or equipment;
Perform basic welding and flame cutting as needed;
Ensure the efficient and safe conduct of activities related to tasks;
Collaborate closely with all team members;
Secure your workplace;
Actively participate in prevention activities and training;
Adequately complete daily reports and work orders related to the tasks assigned;
Comply with laws, regulations and work procedures;
Perform all other related tasks
Job Requirements

DEP in construction machinery mechanics or other equivalent training and relevant experience;
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a mobile equipment mechanic and Alimak mechanic, an asset;
Completed Modular Mining Worker Certification (FMTM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7) and Common Core (Ontario);
Valid driver’s license;
Valid General Explosives Permit;
Basic computer knowledge is an asset;
Interest in working in a remote area and in a multicultural environment;
Autonomy and resourcefulness;
Ability to work in a team;
Ability to communicate in French or English with team members.
