Elliot Lake Retirement Living (ELRL) is the leading provider of rental housing to retired and non-retired individuals in the province. ELRL owns a total of 1,375 residential units in the City of Elliot Lake.

We are looking for a Painter Labourer, the successful candidate must possess the following:

Position Overview:

This role includes tasks such as sanding, caulking, priming, and painting cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen, as well as patching, priming, and painting basement walls and floors. The Painter will also assist with cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy and safe workspace.

Qualifications and Skills:

Communication: Strong ability to receive, follow, and relay instructions clearly and effectively. Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to Detail: Highly attentive to detail, ensuring precision in all tasks, including the preparation, application, and finishing of paint jobs.
Safety Awareness: Proficient in reading and adhering to safety labels, warnings, and guidelines. Always alert and proactive in maintaining a safe work environment.
Technical Skills: Experienced in the use of tools and equipment associated with painting, such as sanders, and caulking guns.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation: Sand, caulk, and prime surfaces including cabinets, walls, and floors to ensure they are ready for painting. This includes filling holes, cracks, and other imperfections to achieve a smooth finish.
Application of Finishes: Apply various finishes to cabinets, rooms, or other structures, including primers, sealers, and paint.
Site Management: Prepare, clean, and tape all job sites efficiently to protect surfaces and maintain a clean work environment.
Paint Removal: Remove old paint coatings when necessary, using appropriate techniques and tools.
Material Handling: Transport necessary materials and equipment around the job site as assigned, ensuring they are stored properly and safely.
Clean-Up: Perform thorough clean-up of all worksite debris, tools, and materials after the completion of each job to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, including safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Requirements:

Driver’s License: Must hold a valid and full driver’s license, as travel to different job sites may be required.
Physical Ability: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
