Job Description

The primary role of the Bookkeeper is to complete all accounting tasks for the business, including but not limited to, payroll, government remittances, daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of the business accounting system, as well as reconciling supplier monthly statements and bank statements for a smooth operation of the company operations. This is a permanent part-time position with flexible hours. Compensation is an hourly wage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

·        Being available on a weekly basis to remain current with tasks;

·        Following well-established procedures;

·        Preparing all documentation for management review;

·        Working with team members to keep all operations current and smooth;

·        Reconciling daily business operations;

·        Reconciling monthly bank, supplier, payable and receivable statements;

·        Preparing year-end documentation for review by the company’s appointed accounting firm;

·        Completing all government and industry-related remittances.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications for this position include:

Minimum of a Business Accounting College Diploma, or equivalent experience;
3 to 5 years’ experience in a retail-related business environment;
·        High level of honesty and integrity;

Great communication, organizational and people skills;
Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with business contacts and co-workers;
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Productivity Suite;
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability;
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the company’s programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.;
 

Working Conditions

This position mostly requires working in an indoor facility with heating and cooling. A typical work week ranges from 20 to 30 hours. This position does offer some flexibility for weekly hours. Compensation is based on education, experience and skill level. Training will be offered by current position holder and management.
