Sheshegwaning First Nation

Sheshegwaning First Nation is seeking drivers responsible for transporting individuals and/or supplies and equipment, to and from various locations; for operating and maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of transportation for members of Sheshegwaning First Nation, while functioning within legislative requirements, regulations, policies and procedures and the Mission, Beliefs and Vision of the Sheshegwaning First Nation Wellness Centre and contributes to the accomplishment of the strategic priorities.

 

DUTIES

•      Transporting individuals and/or supplies and equipment to and from various locations, which may include weekends

•      Collecting prescriptions, wheelchairs, medical equipment, etc. as may be required and delivering to the appropriate destination

•      Maintaining a logbook of all transportation provided (destination, etc.) and of all deliveries of supplies and completing the required forms and reports.

•      Provide auxiliary trips as needed.

•      Always maintaining the vehicles in good working conditions

•      Assisting individuals in and out of van

•      Providing emergency First Aid if necessary (i.e. CPR)

•      Participating in ongoing development and team activities

•      Contribute to a harmonious team environment within the organization.

•      Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

•      Performing other related duties as may be required and assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Secondary School Diploma

• Must have a valid “G” Class driver’s license

• Ability to travel frequently

• Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge to the First Nation cultural values and traditions

• Must be able to work after hours and weekends

• Ability to deal effectively with difficult clients and conflicting situations using good judgement in assessing difficult   
   situations.

• Ability to be consistent and display a positive/helpful attitude

• Flexibility required to keep pace with an ever-changing environment

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team

• Able to report for work as scheduled and to attend work regularly

• Must provide a clean Driver’s Abstract

• Must undergo a criminal record check (CPIC), and vulnerable sector check annually and prior to employment

 

Location: Sheshegwaning First Nation, Health Centre

 

Salary Range: As per contribution agreement.
