Overview:
This person will be under the direction of the Executive Director and will also receive input from the Chief and Council in applying effective strategies and service
- Support the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Governance Development Strategy in support of the ANGA Governance Agreement
- Develop a work plan to coordinate and administer First Nation citizen engagement activities, including community meetings and door to door visits on the Governance initiative
- Ensure ongoing communication updates to Chief and Council and First Nation citizens
- Support regional engagement sessions with First Nation citizens living in urban centres and attending colleges and universities
- Support the development of a First Nation citizen engagement databases
- Assist in addressing First Nation Governance Development issues related to the implementation of the comprehensive Governance Development Strategy
- Provide strategic advice to support the effective implementation of the First Nation Governance Development Strategy
- Support community outreach activities for the Governance Main Table
- Keeping consistent with Sheshegwaning Kchi-Naaknigwein our guiding principles and Shesegwaning Legislative Enactment Regulations
- Responsible for the effective reporting on the implementation of the Comprehensive Governance Development Strategy to Chief and Council and ANGA
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary diploma or degree from a recognized post secondary institute in Governance Development or social sciences and or a combination of educational and workplace experience
- Must possess excellent communication skills, experience and knowledge of Governance Development also have experience with program design and evaluations
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a multi disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrate a commitment to knowledge of community and resources
- Knowledge of and understanding of Anishinabek language, customs and traditions would be an asset
- Must hold a valid Ontario Drivers License and have access to a reliable and insured vehicle
- Provide a current Criminal Reference Check
