Roles and Responsibilities:

Ø  Install and repair telecommunications equipment and products,

Ø  Organize and prioritize work for Installers and Technicians,

Ø  Analyze and resolve problems,

Ø  Be responsible for equipment and vehicles,

Ø  Take daily inventory of the equipment needed for the job,

Ø  Work collaboratively with management and colleagues,

Ø  Knowledge of interpreting schematics

Ø  Organize and prioritize work

Ø  Be responsible for equipment and vehicle

Ø  Directly reporting to and assisting the Manager of Corporate Sales and Branch Operations for Radio Division with corporate contracts and initiatives,

Ø  Provide leadership and mentor the technicians in your department,

Ø  Provide training and support for your team,

Ø  Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction,

Ø  Scheduling your team and the on-call rotation as you deem fit to meet the needs of the business and the sales department,

Ø  Regularly reviewing open orders with the assistance of the sales and office staff. At a minimum on a monthly basis,

Ø  Approval of absence requests and vacation planning,

Ø  First Level Human Resource management (employee conflicts, hiring and disciplinary policy),

Ø  Oversee departmental performance,

Ø  Ensure service department is profitable and achieves financial targets as communicated from the senior management team from time to time,

Ø  Maintain certifications required for Harris and other,

Ø  Assist with warranty and RMA returns for products,

Ø  Ensure your team has the appropriate tools, software and knowledge to complete the services asked of them,

Ø  Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Ø  Some IT networking & electrical experience an asset,

Ø  Have steel toe safety boots and hard hat,

Ø  Have own basic tools (screwdriver, wire cutters, drills, etc.),

Ø  A valid driver’s license with acceptable driver abstract,

Ø  Ability to work with small power tools, mechanically inclined,

Ø  Ability to work in different weather conditions,

Ø  Ability to work at heights,

Ø  Ability to distinguish colors,

Ø  Flexibility to work different schedules overtime and on-call,

Ø  Excellent English communication skills, spoken and written,

Ø  Awareness of occupational health and safety and quality of work,

Ø  Must pass the security police check,

Ø  Bondable,

Ø  Some out-of-town/overnight travel.

Experience – Skills / Expérience – compétences
 
Ø  Minimum of 3 years experience troubleshooting and installing one of the following;

o   Hands on field experience 5 year (preferred).

o   5 to 7 years of Service Manager experience in an industrial or automotive setting.

o   Knowledge of 2-way radio systems, repeater systems, trunking systems, etc.

o   5 years experience providing technical support and service of wireless communication systems such as UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems

o   5 years experience repairing and programming radios and wireless equipment as well as performing software and firmware updates to devices

Education:

Ø  High School Diploma

Ø  Vocational diploma, college certificate or diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechanical or related field
