Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Review of timesheets including verifying manager signoff, compliance with union agreement/policies for overtime
Entry of time records into accounting software
Reconciliation of payroll reports to ensure accuracy of entries
Remittances for source deductions, EHT, WSIB, and union dues
Oversight for payroll and working hand-in-hand with the additional payroll staff
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Includes covering accounts payable staff vacations which may involve reviewing invoices, entering vendor data and reconciling reports.
Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and recording systems, photocopying, dealing with deliveries, stationery, scanning and perform other related duties as required
Requirements
Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
Computer literate – Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
Able to handle multiple requests, prioritize and respond quickly and efficiently
Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
High level of personal integrity
Strong work ethic
Must be adaptive for technology changes as the company shifts to a paperless environment
Completion of a College Diploma in a related field would be an asset
Experience within an payroll department is required
Additional Information
Monday to Friday
Normal work hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Not accessible to public transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour
