The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited for a safety-conscious, reliable individual who takes pride in their equipment, their work, and being part of a team that gets the job done right.

Your Day-to-Day

Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, graders, backhoes, and loaders
Perform daily pre-operational and post-operational inspections and attend safety meetings
Complete daily production reporting and electronic logs
Clean, lubricate, and refuel equipment as required
Identify, report, and correct hazards in accordance with safety standards
Secure and use special attachments safely and properly
Perform minor equipment repairs when required
Operate hydraulic pumping systems and two-way communication equipment
Maintain clean, organized equipment and work areas
Perform physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, climbing, and working in varied conditions
Work evenings and weekends as required
Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision
You Are a Good Fit If You Have

Required:

Valid G Class Driver’s License
Minimum 1 year experience operating heavy equipment
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered an Asset:

Experience operating multiple types of equipment
Surface Miner Common Core certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Professional attitude and strong work ethic
