The individual will work under the direct supervision of the Hub Centre Manager and the general supervision of the Yaasgaabwitaaget (Superintendent of Academics).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
➢ Food Preparation – Maintains high standards of control for quality food production and service,
according to Canada’s food guide, follows operational procedures and menu plans for each
week in addition to being entirely responsible for preparing food for children consisting of hot
and cold food menu items.
➢ Sanitation, Safety, and Security – Maintains an environment conducive to protecting the health
and well-being of the Hub Centre’s children through high levels of food safety and sanitation
standards.
➢ Perform cleaning duties in program rooms, offices, washrooms, hallways, storage and other
areas.
➢ Sweeping, dust mopping floors and stairways, cleaning and disinfecting washroom facilities
daily, refilling dispensers, emptying waste baskets, and removing trash, cleaning and shoveling
entrances as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
➢ Must be physically capable of long periods of standing, walking, and handling medium to heavyweight equipment and materials.
➢ Food Handler’s Certification and WHMIS.
➢ Food Service Worker certification or previous experience working within a cafeteria, restaurant,
or other food service industry.
➢ Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent.
➢ Knowledge and appreciation of Anishinabek Culture, Traditions, Language, and History.
➢ Provide a cover letter, resume and three (3) current work-related references.
➢ Provide current original vulnerable/criminal reference check (within last 90 days) upon offer of
employment.
