POSITION: Registered Early Childhood Educator
SALARY: $69,009.00
Under the direct supervision of the Hub Centre Program Manager and general supervision of the Superintendent of Academics, the Registered Early Childhood Educator will perform the following duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily program activities in accordance with the Wikwemikong Board of Education pedagogical philosophy, and Ministry of Education requirements.
Ensure the consistent inclusion of Anishinaabemowin language and Anishinaabe cultural activities within daily program delivery.
Support and guide children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development through responsive interactions, observation, and play‑based learning experiences.
Provide consistent and attentive supervision to ensure the safety, health, and well‑being of all children during indoor and outdoor program activities.
Plan, organize, implement, and coordinate daily activities and learning environments within the assigned classroom or program area, in accordance with staff schedules.
Maintain accurate and confidential records, observations, and daily program documentation, including journals and child‑related information, in accordance with policy requirements.
Adhere to assigned job responsibilities, schedules, Ministry of Education – Child Care Early Years Act and procedures, the WUT and WBE policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and in good standing.
Fluency in the Anishinaabemowin language and Anishinaabe culture and traditions is a high priority or a willingness to learn.
Standard First Aid/CPR, or a willingness to be certified.
