POSITION: Registered Early Childhood Educator
LOCATION: Wiikwemkoong Hub Centre – Toy Library Resource Centre
SALARY: @ $30.72 per hour
START DATE: Immediate
Under the direct supervision of the Hub Centre Program Manager, the Registered Early Childhood
Educator will perform the following:
RESPONSIBILITES:
➢ Ensure Anishinaabemowin and cultural activities are incorporated into daily programming.
➢ Guide the children in their physical, social, cognitive, and language development.
➢ Supervise children during program activities and ensure their safety and health.
➢ Plan, manage, and implement activities in the designated area/room as assigned on staff
schedule.
➢ Maintain appropriate information, documentation, and journals daily.
➢ Work cooperatively with other staff as per program delivery.
➢ Adhere to job description, schedules, childcare policies, and procedures set out in the Hub Centre.
➢ Adhere to Ministry of Education – Child Care Early Years Act and procedures, the WUT and WBE
Policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
➢ Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and in good standing or diploma in
related field with a willingness to work towards an Early Childhood Education Diploma from a
recognized Post-Secondary Institute.
➢ Standard First Aid/CPR a definite asset.
➢ Knowledge and appreciation of Anishinabek culture, traditions, language, and history.
➢ Provide a cover letter, resume, and three current work-related references.
➢ Provide a current original vulnerable/criminal reference check (within the last 90 days) upon offer
of employment.
