Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory
Job Duties:
- Responsible for planning the 2025 Wiikwemkoong Annual Cultural Festival (WACF)
- Initiate fundraising opportunities by targeting grant agencies, soliciting corporate sponsorships etc.
- Pursue partnership development opportunities within the industry
- Coordinate and confirm vendor registrations and vendor map layout
- Work with WUT Tourism’s Arts and Events Coordinator to carry out a detailed marketing campaign
- Proactively engage, assess and provide support to the WACF committee
- Coordinate and oversee volunteers and workers for the 2024 WACF
- Organize WACF committee meetings including venues, agendas and minutes
Qualifications:
- A combination of work experience and education will be considered
- Must be able to speak/understand the Anishinabe language or willing to learn
- Familiarity with the history, culture and language of the Three Fires Confederacyt and the community of Wikwemikong and the Pow-wow circuit
- Prior experience coordinating Pow Wows is preferred but not required
- Must be able to work independently and be a team player
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
