Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for planning the 2025 Wiikwemkoong Annual Cultural Festival (WACF)
  • Initiate fundraising opportunities by targeting grant agencies, soliciting corporate sponsorships etc.
  • Pursue partnership development opportunities within the industry
  • Coordinate and confirm vendor registrations and vendor map layout
  • Work with WUT Tourism’s Arts and Events Coordinator to carry out a detailed marketing campaign
  • Proactively engage, assess and provide support to the WACF committee
  • Coordinate and oversee volunteers and workers for the 2024 WACF
  • Organize WACF committee meetings including venues, agendas and minutes

Qualifications:

  • A combination of work experience and education will be considered
  • Must be able to speak/understand the Anishinabe language or willing to learn
  • Familiarity with the history, culture and language of the Three Fires Confederacyt and the community of Wikwemikong and the Pow-wow circuit
  • Prior experience coordinating Pow Wows is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work independently and be a team player
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
