Wikwemikong Ontario Works

The Wikwemikong Ontario Works office is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Executive Assistant to Ontario Works Administrator.

Under the direct supervision of the Ontario Works Administrator, the Executive Assistant to the Ontario Works Administrator will be responsible to provide executive level administrative, operational, and policy services to the Ontario Works Administrator. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities within this position are flexible and may be adjusted according to organizational needs and priorities.

  • Work within a team oriented approach, towards the goals and objectives of the organization
  • Assist with and support management, coordination and delivery of organizations strategic plan and work plan objectives as approved
  • Provide support to the OW Administrator related to projects, programs, budgets, policies and staffing
  • Provide administrative support in preparations and submissions of internal and external reports
  • Coordinate the flow of information to the OW Administrator as required for policy and operational decisions
  • Prepare and submit briefing notes and/or agenda request forms
  • Assist with a variety of activities in office administration, maintaining personnel files 
  • Maintain records for reports and submissions
  • Effectively manage working relationships with community, partners, leadership, key stakeholders, and government agencies at various levels
  • Other duties as required


  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field of study, and a minimum of two (2) years experience in an office setting; a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must have the ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven communication skills (written and oral) and conflict resolution skills with the ability to work under pressure and respond effectively in difficult/sensitive situations
  • Fluency in Anishinaabemowin is considered an asset
  • Must have thorough understanding of Wiikwemkoong’s culture and social dynamic
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have a valid Class G Driver’s License
