Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works under limited supervision and follows written instructions and established procedures to complete assigned tasks.
- Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services on vehicles and equipment.
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Estimates time and material costs for vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
- Completes all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Responds to emergency breakdowns and performs service calls.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Completes required paperwork using fleet maintenance software for documenting repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
- Assists senior mechanics with project work and complex repairs.
- Reviews and completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
- Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Shift:
Days and Afternoon shifts: 5 am – 2 pm or 1 pm – 10 pm

Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a licensed 310T Mechanic.
- Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Must hold a valid 310T Mechanic license.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screening and physical.
