MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION DRIVERS

The Whitefish River First Nation (WRFN) Health Centre is seeking highly motivated individuals for On-Call – Casual Medical Transportation Drivers.

The Medical Transportation Driver will provide safe transportation for WRFN members to and from medical appointments via the WRFN medical transportation vehicle.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Provide transportation for First Nation medical clients and escorts to and from medical appointments.
• Provide safe and courteous driving services, drop off, and pick up in front of all medical buildings.
• Ensure that all passengers abide by safety laws (seat belts, child seats).
• Ensure all passengers are courteous and respectful of their fellow passengers.
• Always provide proper and professional relations with all clients.
• Provide polite, outgoing, and attentive client supervision, assistance, support, and advocacy as necessary.
• Provide safe and responsible operation of the vehicles.
• Submit reports of each vehicle’s maintenance log book entries, vehicle Circle Checks, and mileage.
• Submit periodic reports of each vehicle’s client and mileage sheet used for statistical reporting.
• Write up and submit incident reports to appropriate departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License.
• Clear Driver’s Abstract.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nation language and culture (or willingness to learn).

Upon Hire
• Must enroll and complete the Defensive Driver Certificate Program.
• Must enroll and complete the Standard First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Submit a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
