POSITION: Anishinaabemowin Coach
LOCATION: Wiikwemkoong Junior School (2 Positions)
SALARY: According to WBE Salary Grid and Qualifications/Experience

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, and the general supervision of the Yaasgaabwitaaget (System
Principal) and Kinoomaagewi Gimaa (Director of Education).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Support the Junior, Pontiac, and High School Principals and Anishinaabemowin and Cultural Arts teachers
in Grades k-12 to implement best practices and student success strategies.
 Assist teachers with the implementation of Educational Technology when requested.
 Co-plan lessons with education team.
 Facilitate Anishinaabemowin Team meetings.
 Gather resources for teachers to incorporate in their teachings.
 Assist with the integration of Anishinaabe language and culture in Literacy and Numeracy Nights at the Junior and Pontiac School.
 Coordinate, support, and deliver professional development board-wide.
 Maintain daily logs and submit monthly reports to the Principal.
 Supply teaching may be required to ensure the implementation of Student Success Team programming.
 Implement a Student-Centered Approach to coaching.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Valid Ontario College of Teachers certification/registration and QECO Registration
 Additional Qualifications (AQ) in Native as a Second Language, Special Education, and Guidance are considered assets w/flexibility to adapt to teaching environment.
 Excellent rapport with students and a team-oriented individual.
 Provide copies of practice teaching reports and/or performance appraisals.
 Fluency in Anishinaabe.
 Knowledge and appreciation of Anishinabek culture, traditions, language, and history.
 Provide a cover letter, resume and 3 current work-related references.
 Provide current CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Screening upon offer of employment.
